As a researcher at HOGENT's AgroFoodNature research center, I have been dedicated to advancing sustainable food systems through projects like "Lokaal Brood" and "PeaPact." In the "Lokaal Brood" project (2019-2022), we focused on establishing a sustainable short supply chain for bread by promoting the use of locally grown grains, thereby enhancing value for farmers, millers, bakers, and consumers.

Currently, in the "PeaPact" project, my research centers on developing local protein chains for yellow peas in Flanders, aiming to integrate this crop into local agriculture and food production to support the protein transition.
