I am professor for biotechnology, head of TRASlab and co-founder of CAPTURE, a center focusing on circularity in water, plastics and CO2. Our main focus is on the recovery of resources and treatment of side/waste streams using electrochemical processes. In the context of feed or food, this involves projects on (i) microbial protein, as novel feed/food source produced from streams such as ethanol (produced from off gases) and agricultural side streams (see e.g. EU-Agriloop) (ii) production of feed ingredients such as MCFA for which his team developed a production and extraction system.
