My research group focuses on the clinical impact of mycotoxins on cancer risk and growth retardation. As co-head of the Centre of Excellence in Mycotoxicology & Public Health (CEMPH), I apply advanced analytical methods and oversees large-scale cohort studies adhering to EN-ISO17025 standards. My pioneering research on toxicokinetics and non-invasive microsampling techniques advances public health strategies. Through MYTOX-SOUTH®, the ERC-funded HUMYCO project and GEZONDHEIDSMONITOR, we strengthen global food safety and investigates the human mycobolome's role in disease and healthy aging. We are driving innovation, international collaboration, international collaboration, and transformative research in exposomics and preventive health.
