My research group for food packaging technology focusses on biobased & compostable plastics as well as different barrier materials for food packaging. We study how different compositions and functionalisation of packaging materials influences the shelf-life of food products. Besides, I am together with An Vermeulen, leading the non-profit organization Pack4Food which is a collaboration platform between the food and packaging industry, research institutes and other stakeholders in food packaging (https://pack4food.be/en/).
